What to expect on the journey
Pickup is from your Prague hotel, apartment or Václav Havel Airport. Many guests book this route directly after landing as a Prague airport to Cesky Krumlov transfer, with flight tracking, luggage space and door-to-door drop-off included. The route runs south through Central and South Bohemia, usually via the D3 corridor and regional roads as you get closer to Český Krumlov. The final approach is slower and more scenic, with rolling countryside, villages and castle country replacing the motorway.
The drive normally takes about two and a half hours. Because Český Krumlov’s historic centre is compact and partly pedestrianised, the exact drop-off depends on your hotel or meeting point; your driver will get you as close as access rules allow.
This is one of the easiest routes to turn into a day trip. A morning departure from Prague gives you enough time for the castle area, old town lanes, lunch and viewpoints before returning in the evening.
Vehicle options and pricing
Every Prague–Český Krumlov transfer is a private booking for your group. The Premium Sedan carries up to 3 passengers and 3 large suitcases from €249 one-way. The Premium SUV takes up to 4 passengers and 4 large bags, from €339.
This route is often booked as a day trip — the driver waits while you explore and brings you back the same evening, quoted as one fixed price. Fuel, tolls and vignettes, road taxes, parking, bottled water, chargers and child seats on request are all included. Send a booking request and we confirm availability and payment instructions directly. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Things to do in Český Krumlov
The castle complex is the main event: courtyards, gardens, views over the red rooftops and, in season, the baroque theatre. Below it, the old town is made for slow wandering — narrow lanes, riverside cafés, small shops and viewpoints over the Vltava bend.
For a short visit, focus on the castle area and the old town loop. For a longer day, add lunch, the gardens and time by the river. If you are continuing onward to Austria, Český Krumlov also works well as a stop between Prague and Salzburg or Vienna.
Why book a private transfer
Public transport to Český Krumlov can involve fixed departure times and luggage handling through stations or bus stops. A private transfer is direct, timed around your day and much easier if you are travelling with bags, children or a tight itinerary.
The same car can handle a one-way transfer, a same-day return, or a longer route that uses Český Krumlov as a sightseeing stop. That flexibility is the main advantage: the town is small, but the logistics around it matter.
Reverse route, stopovers and travel options
You can book the same private transfer in reverse, from Český Krumlov to Prague, with the same door-to-door pickup, fixed vehicle price and direct confirmation. Return transfers are useful for airport connections, multi-city holidays and business trips where timing matters more than stitching together local taxis and public transport.
Stopovers can be added when the schedule allows: a lunch break, castle visit, wine town, scenic viewpoint or time to collect keys from accommodation. Tell us the preferred stop in the booking request and we will confirm the extra time and price before the trip is final.
Trains and buses are usually best for one traveller with a small bag. A private transfer is stronger when you are two to four people, travelling with luggage, children or a tight arrival window. Compared with a taxi, the advantage is the confirmed long-distance price, planned route and a driver who is expecting an intercity journey rather than a short urban fare.
